Team Marigold
Marigold is a team of healthy eating and cooking enthusiasts. Taste, health, convenience and environmental responsibility are the guiding principles for the food Marigold has been making for over forty years. From all over the world but based in London, Team Marigold loves food and loves helping people make delicious meals. Naturally.
Our Values
Taste
Helping to add flavour to your cooking. It has to taste good to get the Marigold stamp of approval.
Vegan
Marigold food is all plant based. Whether your final dishes are vegan, vegetarian, have meat or fish – Marigold products will deliver the taste, health and nutrition in a vegan way.
No nasties, just good ingredients
Yes: We use natural ingredients, organic where possible.
No: Artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, GMO’s, MSG, hydrogenated fats or palm oil.
Health
Helping you to eat better. Whether it’s offering reduced salt versions of bouillon powder or vitamin & mineral fortified versions of Engevita® nutritional yeast flakes to assist with a vegan diet, Marigold promotes health as well as taste.
The majority of Marigold food is gluten free.
Marigold gravy and organic bouillon do not have allergen containing ingredients.
People
Success is based upon people partnerships. Growers, production, warehouse and transport teams. Distributors, retailers and consumers. Everyone is Marigold’s valued partner.
Marigold believes in sharing success and is currently donating over 5% of its profits to fantastic charities doing great work:
Pro Labore Dei www.prolaboredei.org supporting some of the poorest people on every continent by providing education, shelter, food and health aid as necessary at grass root level.
The Tsholofelo Community Project www.friendsofafrica.org.uk/foastore/tsholofelo-community-south-africa supporting women and families in squatter camps around Rustenberg in South Africa.
The Macari Foundation www.macari-foundation.co.uk providing a welcoming environment to homeless people in Stoke-On-Trent, UK and helping them get back on their feet.
The YMCA in Haringey, UK www.ymcalondoncan.org/engage/events/fun-run providing beds and shelter to over 150 people in need and services to local families.
Sustainability
Marigold will constantly strive to improve the sustainability of its food. Whether offering certified organic versions of popular lines, removing palm oil from all recipes or improving the recyclability of its packaging, Marigold will continue to pursue the proper path to support the environment.
Marigold does its best to avoid food waste. The majority of Marigold’s short dated or slightly damaged goods are given to https://thefelixproject.org who are doing an excellent job of fighting hunger in the London area.
Our History
Still spooning after all these years
Our Future
Marigold is constantly looking to improve and grow
Vegan
Marigold has recently become vegan (from having been vegan and vegetarian). Great tasting, plant-based food is exactly the area in which we’ll be moving forward.
Palm Oil Free
Although sustainable palm oil was used in a select number of recipes, Marigold will be palm oil free from the first quarter of 2024.
Improved Packaging Recyclability
Marigold has invested heavily in new packing equipment for our popular retail tubs of bouillon, Engevita® Nutritional Yeast and gravy. The tin bases are being replaced with card giving them the green light for domestic kerbside recycling. Look out for the clear OPRL recycling messages on pack. New packaging should start hitting the shelves from late 2023.
New Lines
Marigold’s office cupboard is full of great ideas for new lines.
Marigold is super excited about welcoming the newest member to the family:
